For hatchery, land-based & RAS operations
One Handling System for Every Tank on Site
VAKI's SmartFlow-connected pumps, graders and counters move fish between tanks, gently and automatically, without netting or manual lifting.
The daily reality on site
Before SmartFlow, these are the problems that hatchery, land-based and RAS operations run into.
Manual transfer between tanks and stages
Moving fish by hand between hatchery, grow-out and transfer stages is slow and stresses fish, and it doesn't scale as tank density goes up.
No single view across every tank
Running several tanks or units with no shared view means monitoring and controlling each one separately, with no way to see the whole operation at once.
Every handling step is a stress risk
Pumping, grading and counting are each a chance to injure or stress fish, and that risk compounds in the high-density tanks land-based and RAS systems run.
How SmartFlow solves it
One connected line, not three disconnected steps
SmartFlow connects every Smart Pump, Grader and Counter you run into one system, so you can control, monitor, report and review the whole operation, not each tank in isolation.
Collect key operating data from all smart equipment. Optimize on the fly for effortless real-time adjustments.
Leverage automatic reporting of production efficiency and KPIs for sustainable performance and maximum returns.

Pump, grade, count: connected

PUMP
Draws fish gently from up to 3 meters below
The Heathro Fish Pump self-primes, handles fish from 0.2g to 400g, and moves them through 3–6 inch hoses with stepless speed control and wireless remote operation.

Sorts into up to 4 grades automatically
The Smart Grader is height-adjustable and variable-speed, built for high-speed grading of small fish from 0.2g to 200g without manual adjustment mid-shift.

COUNT
Counts and images every grade at up to 200,000 smolts/hour
Macro Range counters record average weight and size distribution automatically, save an image of every count for verification, and support multi-channel and wellboat configurations.

CONNECT
SmartFlow ties the whole line together
Every connected Smart Pump, Grader and Counter reports into one system: control, monitor, report and review the entire operation from a desktop, tablet or phone, not tank by tank.

Pump
The pump self-primes and draws fish in from up to 3 meters below. 3–6 inch flexible lines work, with clear PU hose recommended.
Grade
Fish are pumped into the grader and sorted into up to 4 grades. A rigid pipe is recommended from grader to counter.
Count
Individual grades are counted by Macro Range counters, each count backed by a saved image.
Connect
SmartFlow reports every stage automatically: no separate log per tank or unit.
“The VAKI Hatchery System has been helpful for us to make the transfer of our fingerlings more effective and soft. Now we have optimal size distribution and know exactly how many fish we have in every cage.”

Common questions about hatchery, land-based and RAS systems
VAKI's pumps, graders and counters connect into your tank and pipe network: self-priming pumps draw from up to 3 meters below, and 3–6 inch hose sizes connect each stage. Our sales team can review your site's layout to confirm the right configuration.
Yes. The Hatchery System is built to be compatible with all species, from fry as small as 0.2g up through market size, by matching pump, grader and counter models to your fish size and volume.
SmartFlow connects every Smart Pump, Grader and Counter into one system, so you can control, monitor, report and review all of them (across every tank or unit) from one place, on desktop, tablet or phone.
No lifting or dry handling is required: fish move through the pump, grader and counter in water at every stage, and the equipment is built to stay gentle even at high tank density.
Macro Range counters handle up to 200,000 smolts per hour, with average weight and size distribution reported automatically, sized for hatchery and land-based volumes, not just small batches.
