Accurate Counting, Gentle and Image Verification

Every count is backed by an image

A scanning camera captures and saves an image of every fish that passes through, so any count can be checked and verified.

Gentle, in-water handling at any capacity

Fish stay in water at all times, from the smallest Nano unit to the highest-capacity Macro Exel.

Remote monitoring and automatic reporting

Counting reports, overload alarms, and remote servicing come standard. Settings, images, and count history are visible without shipping the unit anywhere.

THE COUNTING CHALLANGE

Incorrect or missing fish counts create uncertainty throughout the production cycle

Before a count becomes a feed plan, a harvest forecast, or an invoice, it has to hold up.

Unreliable biomass estimates

Total biomass depends on fish numbers and average weight. Incorrect counts can distort stock estimates even when weight measurements are accurate.

Poor feed monitoring

Feeding plans based on incorrect stock estimates can lead to overfeeding and wasted feed, or underfeeding and reduced growth.

Incorrect counts

Incorrect counts can leave tanks with more or fewer fish than planned, complicating stocking and subsequent production decisions.

How VAKI counters work

The same mechanism runs across the whole range. The scale changes, the process doesn't.

1

Fish flow through the scanner

Fish pass gently through the counting area in water. No lifting, no dry handling, at any capacity.

2

Every fish is imaged and counted

A scanning camera and computer vision capture and record an image of each fish as it passes; custom software analyses and counts every one.

3

You get a verified, backed-up report

An automatic count report and the saved image file are ready immediately, and back up automatically to VAKI Cloud.

Common questions about VAKI counters

Over 99% accurate at maximum capacity, across every model in the range. Every count is backed by a saved image, so it can be checked after the fact.
